Plants Are Perfect Gifts

Giving someone a gift on a special occasion is natural thing to do. We give them a present to let them know that we care and we remember. There are also times that we give a present in exchange of a favor. But more often than not,  we give presents because we want to please the person who receives it. We may have different reasons why we give someone a present. But one thing is for sure, if the person who receives the gift is happy, we are happy too. Just like what  Carlos Ruiz Zafón said, “Presents are made for the pleasure of who gives them, not the merits of who receives them.”.

More often than than when we give someone we love or value a present, we give a little part of ourselves. We wanted to be remembered through our gifts. It is mainly the reason why we have to be satisfied and happy with the gift first before giving it to someone we cherished. We do not give them just any gift. It has to be something special and unique just like the living wall on my mom's kitchen wall. The living wall is nothing ordinary. There is not many people who has this kind of decoration in their living room or kitchen. I gave all my efforts to grow those herbs on the living wall. It may have its own reservoir, but I see to it that it does not run out of water. I watched it grow everyday and made sure that it is free from diseases. I read all books about gardening to ensure that I give proper care to container plants. Seeing how beautiful, unique and useful they are, I am sure that anyone who receives it will be thrilled just like how my mom was thrilled when I gave her my first living wall project.

Gifts must not be always be bought by money. Most people appreciate it more if we made the gift with our bare hands. Hardwork and effort add value to the gift. Gifts must not always be expensive as well. The most important thing is that it came from our heart.

My First Living Wall

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/diy-living-walls.html

Gardening has been a passion and a hobby for many. It is also a great stress reliever. However, I have never truly appreciated gardening until recently. It is known among my family and friends that I have not kept a single plant alive before. It was quite frustrating for I really wanted to have my own garden just like my siblings. For sometime I stopped trying and instead pretended to grow "plants" in the form of faux plants or artificial plants. The artificial plants look real enough but they know better. Anyhow, the artificial plants were a perfect substitute for the real ones. They are maintenance free as they do not need watering and most importantly they do not wither. All they need is dusting and they are all fine.

However, there is nothing more gratifying than growing your own garden. Watching them grow day by day is somewhat fulfilling. Most of the fruits and vegetables served on our table came from the garden in our yard. Unlike me, my parents and siblings have no trouble growing any plant. I am grateful that they never stopped encouraging me to grow my own garden. They provided me with Herb Kits & Seed Starting Kits which were hard to grow at first. I lost count of the number of Herb Kits & Seed Starting Kits which all withered in my hands. This was before I found the DIY living wall kit.

The Herb Kits & Seed Starting Kits and living wall kit have greatly helped me start my own garden. The DIY living wall kit has ten planting cells, a watering tank and a moisture mat which made it easy for me to grow my own garden. For sometime, I had some doubts that those herbs I planted would not last a month. However, as I watched them thrive on my wall everyday, I have been hopeful that all these plants will be fine. I was right. Now, my mom, has been using those herbs I planted from the living wall kit to cook our favorite dishes. It seems that I have done something right, finally.

Living Wall Kit As A Present

The look on my mother’s face when she received her present last Mother’s day is beyond words. She was really pleased with the living wall present which she helped me grow a few weeks ago.  This is not the first time that she received a plant as a present but it is the first time that she received it from me. The fact that the living wall survived proved that all her efforts in teaching me how to take care of the plants had finally paid off. It also disproved that I am a total disaster when it comes to growing plants.
My mom is passionate about her plants. She spends a lot of time, money and effort just to make sure that her plants grow well. She dotes on them as has doted on us. There was even a time that I thought she loves her plants more than she loves us. But then again, I know in my heart that I am wrong. I finally understood why she had been encouraging us to grow our own garden when we were little. It is her way of teaching us about life and values. It is her own way of teaching us how to be patient and kind.
The living wall on her kitchen does not only please her. It also pleases me since it is my first green wall project. I may not have done it alone but I have put in so much effort just to ensure that those herbs grow well. It looks perfect on her kitchen wall. I know I have a lot to learn when it comes to growing plants. But I have the garden books and my mother who is like a walking garden encyclopedia who will guide me along the way.

Gardening With DIY Living Walls

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/diy-living-walls.html
Over the years, I have seen several plants which were planted on hanging glass globes, contemporary table top terrariums, window boxes, and glowing planters. There are even some people who recycled their old piano, rusted wheelbarrow and empty plastic soda bottles into planters. I thought nothing else could surprise me as I have already seen these not-so-ordinary ways of growing plants. I even tried planting a few of my favorite plants using these beautiful and unique planters. However, it is in our nature to seek and develop new ideas as that will improve our way of living. The living wall or green wall is the product of one of those new ideas.

The living wall is garden and wall decoration rolled into one. They are a perfect decoration if you have a limited space or if you are staying in a studio type apartment. They are also proven to be very useful especially in the kitchen as they can be used to grow your favorite herbs and spices. I already have three living walls which are growing healthily. One of those living walls is gracing the living wall. The second one is gracing the kitchen. The herbs and spices which I planted on the third do it your self living wall is only a week old so it stays hidden in my room. I am planning to give it to my mom as a surprise Mother’s Day present on May 11th. It will be the first time I am giving her a live plant on Mother’s Day and I am very excited about it. For sure she will be please since she had been asking for the living wall in the kitchen the first time she saw it.

I suppose I am ready for my first bonsai project. I am planning to use the Vertical Garden with Containers for my bonsai trees. I know that growing bonsai trees may not be as easy as growing herbs and spices. They need more care and attention. But I am 100 percent confident that my bonsai trees will grow as healthily as the other living walls.

DIY Living Wall Kits For Home Improvement

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/diy-living-walls.html
Time flies so fast. It seems like yesterday when I wrote about the living wall art which is my current project at home. Now, the plants on the walls of my kitchen and living room are thriving beautifully and healthily. Inspired of the good results, I bought several Herb Kits and Seed Starting Kits and a few more DIY Living Wall Kits. I am planning to cover the entire living wall with my favorite plants but I am not sure how to do it. But I have high hopes that just like my first green wall project, this new project will also succeed.
http://www.hooksandlattice.com/diy-living-walls.html
Initially, I am confident that I could do the green wall project alone. But this is a huge project for me. I tried asking help from my family members and relatives but they said I can do it without their help. The first green wall project which I started last week is growing healthily which means the curse of the brown thumb is probably lifted according to them. They don't budge to help no matter what I do or say. Frustrated with my family for refusing to help me, I read the instructions which came with the DIY Living Wall Kits and Herb Kits and Seed Starting Kits for the nth time but nothing seems to register in my brain. It seems so easy when my family were helping me. Left with no choice, I decided to call the store where I purchased the DIY Living Wall Kits and asked for their help.

Do it your self living wall kits are indeed easy. All I need is an expert to give me some tips. With my fingers crossed, I wish that this new green wall project will also succeed. I do not have to worry about watering the plants as well since the DIY Living Wall Kits includes its own watering tank and moisture mat which will keep the plants living and green. My first green wall project is doing okay so definitely the next green wall project will also be okay.

Gardening In A Unique Way With The Living Wall Kit

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/living-wall-kit-traditional-frame.html
We love to decorate our home. We make sure that our home would look neat and pretty from floor to ceiling. We would decorate it with vases, figurines, paintings, and plants. But having a plant on your wall is kind of ingenious. It is also unique. I never imagined that would be possible. However, after receiving a Living Wall Kit with Traditional Frame as a gift from a college classmate, everything about wall gardening is possible. I was able to grow Wandering Jew, Geranium, Jasmine and succulent plants and other indoor plants in the living wall kit with the help of my folks. I am planning to add another one for the kitchen. But this time, I will be planting herbs and spices.
http://www.hooksandlattice.com/living-wall-kit-traditional-frame.html
The  Living Wall Kit with Traditional Frame allows me to plant my favorite indoor plants and hang it on my wall like a painting or a picture. It has ten planting cells for your favorite indoor and outdoor plants. In addition, it has its own water tank and moisture mat that will keep your plants alive and healthy. Whoever thought of gardening this way is not only clever and very resourceful but must really love gardening a lot. Normally, we would have our favorite plants planted in a flowerbox, planter or flowering pot and place it in one corner of a room or on a table as a centerpiece. But having a wall garden is really amazing. It is like having a living picture which is both refreshing and weird as you watch them grow or thrive on your wall.

Gardening must indeed come in many forms and done is many ways. The Living Wall Kit with Traditional Frame gives a new definition to gardening. I had fun growing the plants in this do it yourself green walls. I feels like I am creating my very own masterpiece and just like what Luther Burbank said, "Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul."
