Plant A Canadian Sugar Maple Tree And Be Free

 http://www.hooksandlattice.com/canadian-maple-gift.html

I love summer. It is the best time to go outing with my love ones. I love going to the beach and have fun with my family and friends. However there are times that I wish that summer does not come.  I just can't stand the excruciating heat of the sun. These past few weeks it has been intolerable. I cannot stay 15 minutes under the heat of the sun without getting sun-burnt in spite of the sun block lotion. All I want to do is stay under the shade of the ten-year- old Canadian Sugar Maple trees where it is cool and comforting.

Whenever I look at the Canadian Sugar Maple trees in the backyard, I can't help but be proud of myself for it is the fruit of my labor. I may have planted several other Canadian Sugar Maple trees and other trees but the ones in the backyard were mine. I was the one who planted and took care of those trees until it grew taller than me. Growing it was not easy for me. I had to do a lot of research on how to grow it. I also had to check if the rich and well-drained soil in our yard is alright for the tree. Thankfully, the soil in our yard is ideal for growing the tree. In addition, I also sought the advice of several individuals for the proper planting technique.

These 35 meter Canadian maple trees which were my high school project have done us a lot of favors. Aside from providing us with shade especially in times like this, we were also able to harvest maple syrup from it. The maple syrup it produces was the main reason why I chose to grow it in spite of the hardships I knew I had to go through. Its sweet taste is really worth all the trouble. I have no regrets.

Canadian Sugar Maple Trees And Its Benefits

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/canadian-maple-gift.html
For several decades we have been suffering from all sorts of natural calamities brought about by global warming. Flood, tsunamis, drought, and strong typhoons which can wipe us out in a single stroke are nature’s revenge for all the abuses it received from us. Thankfully, government and private sectors here and abroad have been working hand in hand to stop global warming by teaching us the proper way to recycle, patronize environmental friendly products and the most important of all they encourage us to plant trees and plants. Without this nature’s natural air cooling system, we do not stand a chance against the harmful heat of the sun.
I am glad that we were taught how to plant trees and other plants at a very young age. My parents and teachers in school did a wonderful job in instilling that we should value and protect Mother Nature. The tall Canadian Sugar Maple trees which started as a project during my grade school are now standing tall and proud in our yard. These trees made our place cooler that some places which do not have any trees. They are very convenient especially during summer. I tried to make a bonsai tree out of as it makes a wonderful indoor decoration. But my parents told me that it will grow best in its natural habitat. I am glad I listened. Aside from the shade provided by the Canadian Sugar Maple trees, we are also enjoying the sweet maple syrup which came from it.
Planting decorative plants and trees such as the Canadian Sugar Maple trees make a difference in our society. Most of our food source come from them. In addition, without these plants and trees we do not stand a chance against the harmful heat of the sun. So let us do our part in planting trees for we have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

Living Wall Kit As A Present

The look on my mother’s face when she received her present last Mother’s day is beyond words. She was really pleased with the living wall present which she helped me grow a few weeks ago.  This is not the first time that she received a plant as a present but it is the first time that she received it from me. The fact that the living wall survived proved that all her efforts in teaching me how to take care of the plants had finally paid off. It also disproved that I am a total disaster when it comes to growing plants.
My mom is passionate about her plants. She spends a lot of time, money and effort just to make sure that her plants grow well. She dotes on them as has doted on us. There was even a time that I thought she loves her plants more than she loves us. But then again, I know in my heart that I am wrong. I finally understood why she had been encouraging us to grow our own garden when we were little. It is her way of teaching us about life and values. It is her own way of teaching us how to be patient and kind.
The living wall on her kitchen does not only please her. It also pleases me since it is my first green wall project. I may not have done it alone but I have put in so much effort just to ensure that those herbs grow well. It looks perfect on her kitchen wall. I know I have a lot to learn when it comes to growing plants. But I have the garden books and my mother who is like a walking garden encyclopedia who will guide me along the way.

Gardening With DIY Living Walls

http://www.hooksandlattice.com/diy-living-walls.html
Over the years, I have seen several plants which were planted on hanging glass globes, contemporary table top terrariums, window boxes, and glowing planters. There are even some people who recycled their old piano, rusted wheelbarrow and empty plastic soda bottles into planters. I thought nothing else could surprise me as I have already seen these not-so-ordinary ways of growing plants. I even tried planting a few of my favorite plants using these beautiful and unique planters. However, it is in our nature to seek and develop new ideas as that will improve our way of living. The living wall or green wall is the product of one of those new ideas.

The living wall is garden and wall decoration rolled into one. They are a perfect decoration if you have a limited space or if you are staying in a studio type apartment. They are also proven to be very useful especially in the kitchen as they can be used to grow your favorite herbs and spices. I already have three living walls which are growing healthily. One of those living walls is gracing the living wall. The second one is gracing the kitchen. The herbs and spices which I planted on the third do it your self living wall is only a week old so it stays hidden in my room. I am planning to give it to my mom as a surprise Mother’s Day present on May 11th. It will be the first time I am giving her a live plant on Mother’s Day and I am very excited about it. For sure she will be please since she had been asking for the living wall in the kitchen the first time she saw it.

I suppose I am ready for my first bonsai project. I am planning to use the Vertical Garden with Containers for my bonsai trees. I know that growing bonsai trees may not be as easy as growing herbs and spices. They need more care and attention. But I am 100 percent confident that my bonsai trees will grow as healthily as the other living walls.
